In the Secretariat of the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm Conventions, Tatiana Terekhova has been in the United Nations family for over 16 years. Currently working in the Secretariat of the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm Conventions, she is responsible for the range of issues on chemicals and waste management under the conventions, including illegal traffic of hazardous and other waste under the Basel Convention, the partnerships’ programme, including the Environmental Network for Optimizing Regulatory Compliance on Illegal Traffic (ENFORCE), institutional aspects of the regional centres and SDGs. Prior to this function, she was coordinating capacity-building and technical assistance activities for the three Conventions.  Tatiana has been in the United Nations family for over 16 years. This includes the Strategic Approach to International Chemicals Management (SAICM) secretariat / UNEP where she managed the Quick Start Programme Trust Fund and the UN Institute for Training and Research where she aided developing countries and countries in economy in transition in various areas of sound chemicals and wastes management. Tatiana is a national of the Russian Federation. She has a background in international environmental law and has law degrees from Russia and Switzerland.
