Katharina Aibliner-Madersbacher.png

Katharina Aiblinger-Madersbacher has been working in the past 12 years in the field of waste shipment inspections at the District Government of Lower Bavaria. As competent authority under Article 53 of the European Waste Shipment Regulation, her organisation has the assignment to classify transboundary waste shipments as legal or illegal and in the case of transit to liaise with the competent authorities in the countries of dispatch and destination. Therefore, from her point of view, it is essential to maintain a good international network and to provide the inspectors in the field with feasible guidance.

She gives lessons at the Training Centre of the Bavarian Police and at the German Police University and she contributes to several IMPEL-Projects (European Union Network for the Implementation and Enforcement of Environmental Law), including the Waste sites manual, the Guidance on Effective Waste Shipment Inspection Planning, Enforcement Actions and the Implementation of the WEEE Directive (including BFRs).

She is an Engineer and studied Technical Physics with focus on Environmental Protection at the University of Applied Sciences in Munich. Before starting with the European Waste Shipment Regulation, her occupation was to evaluate and supervise industrial facilities in line with the Federal Emission Protection Act.
