The Customs Criminological Office, or in German “Zollkriminalamt” (ZKA), is the central office of the German Customs Investigation Service. The ZKA acts as the central coordination unit for mutual assistance and cooperation for German customs. The main tasks are the coordination and supervision of the investigations carried out by the eight customs investigation offices. However, investigations of significant importance are usually delegated to ZKA itself.
