Webinar Report
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objective:
This webinar will feature three activities: used lead acid battery recycling, artisanal and small-scale gold mining, and small-scale tanneries. These actively contribute to land-based pollution in LMICs and in this webinar, we will present:
a) key findings and knowledge data gaps that have hindered a fuller understanding of this issue;
b) how several risk analysis approaches might be useful in this resource-constrained context;
c) a high-level overview of a pragmatic framework for designing representative studies, recommendations for environmental sampling, biological monitoring and health outcome measurements and use of household surveys to better support community health impact analyses associated with land-based pollution sources in LMICs.
Participants:
The aim of the webinars is to exchange information and share examples of good practices, studies and research conducted by IOMC organizations, with a multi-sectoral focus. The webinar features presentations from lead IOMC organizations (World Bank, OECD and UNEP), as well as an interactive dialogue with participants.
Please leave your written contribution about the Implementation Programmes here
In order to structure the discussion, we are asking you to address three questions:

(1) For your organization, what is your vision of IPs? What would be their structure and important features? What are the potential benefits and value added? What would determine success?

(2) How would you like to be engaged and contribute to the development of IPs? What would create your organization’s “ownership” of the stakeholder process and results? Which concepts and activities do you propose? Which areas and questions interest you most?

(3) Which stakeholder activities and consultations should we pursue (including further webinars) and when? On which topics? What progress should we have achieved by mid-2025?

Please focus your verbal and written contributions only to these three questions. We would like to hear from you!
